Jenny graduated from Blue Ridge Community College in May of 2000 with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology and joined the team at Commonwealth shortly after.She has always wanted to provide good quality health care for all animals. Her responsibilities includebeing an active participant with the technical staff members, inventorycontrol, and general hospital protocols. Jenny is the steady hand that keeps things organized and running smoothly behind the scenes, and our techs have gained skills and confidence under her mentorship. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising in various ways, including running and weight training. She also enjoys spending time with her husband Jeff, their three kids and pets.

Amanda Forbes, LVT

Hailing from the Valley, Amanda has been working in the veterinary field since the age of 16. She graduated from the veterinary technician program at Blue Ridge Community College in 2006. She has worked at several clinics in the area and has been with CVC since 2014. Having spent some time working for a veterinary dermatologist, Mandy thoroughly enjoys looking down the microscope, and often acts as our resident lab expert. Amanda and her husband, Lee, live in Verona with 3 cats and 3 dogs, all rescues. Her favorite part of the job is getting to know clients and their pets.

Originally from Lynchburg, VA, Elizabeth graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program at Blue Ridge Community College in 2012. She has been in the veterinary profession for 10 years, having started in the kennel and worked her way up to veterinary assistant, and finally Licensed Veterinary Technician. Elizabeth's strength lies in advocating for the patients we serve, and is often the first set of eyes and ears to identify issues that need to be addressed. Hobbies outside of work include being outdoors, hiking,kayaking, yoga, and taking care of her three cats and dog who is always by her side. She also enjoys spending time with her family and two nephews. 

Sarah Hodge, LVT

Sarah Hodge, LVT

Sarah is the newest member to the full time staff of Commonwealth. Freshly minted in 2016 with a degree from Blue Ridge, Sarah is fully immersed in the world of animal care, with 3 dogs of her own, 3 horses, 2 rabbits, 2 guinea pigs, 6 ducks, 2 cats, and a bottle fed calf she recently brought home after a farm call! Sarah has a calm and comforting manner with pets, which helps cooler heads prevail in what can be difficult situations.
